Leveraging Change Communication & Management Theories for Sustainable Employee Behavior Change

Tuesday, October 12, 1:30-2:15pm

The last year has been extremely stressful with the Covid-19 global pandemic, sustainability crises looming, and employee burnout across sectors. So how do we build a suite of programs that uplift, empower, and engage employees when we are surrounded by crisis messaging?

In this session, you will learn about change communication and management theories that help inspire and engage your colleagues and workforce. You will walk away with an understanding of how to foster a growth mindset, communicate effectively to promote behavior changes, and how to “grow” your people by starting with your bright spots.

Sustainable Living and Collaborative Learning on Pitt’s Campus

Thursday, October 14, 12-12:45 pm

In the Fall of 2022, the University of Pittsburgh will launch its first Sustainability Living Learning Community for both upperclassmen and freshmen. Living Learning Communities (LLCs) are specialized living environments that connect students through inside- and outside-the-classroom experiences.

The Sustainability LLC will focus on connecting first-year students and upperclassmen both with each other and with the world of sustainability on Pitt’s campus and beyond. In this session, hear from Abigail Zolner and Felicity Shafer -the undergraduate student creators of this LLC. They will be discussing the process of creating this space on campus, the importance of collaboration between students, faculty, and staff, and how sustainability can be further incorporated into on-campus living!
