Four Pitt Eats Campus Locations Achieve Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant Designations

Both Pitt’s dining halls renewed their GOLD Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant status & the Cathedral & Schenley Cafe’s earned Silver!

The University of Pittsburgh’s two main dining halls (The Eatery and The Perch at Sutherland) have renewed their Gold designations under the Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurants program!  Additionally, both the Cathedral Cafe and Schenley Cafe earned Silver Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant designations!

The Eatery and The Perch at Sutherland earned their designations as Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurants by demonstrating a commitment to take economic, environmental, and social actions that benefit the region.

For all 4 Pitt locations, the Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant designations recognize the commitment Pitt has to our community, our economy, and our planet. Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurants are evaluated based on 149 actions across 6 categories of sustainability standards: waste reduction, water conservation, energy efficiency, people, responsible sourcing, and nutrition.

Visit Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurants for more information about designations and to find your favorite sustainable restaurant (or a new one).
