Bee Campus USA

The University of Pittsburgh first became a Bee Campus USA in 2020 — an honor we now renew annually.

The Bee Campus USA designation provides a framework for university and college campus communities to work together to conserve native pounivesrillinators by increasing the abundance of native plants, providing nest sites, and reducing the use of pesticides. As a Bee Campus, Pitt is committed to helping conserve native pollinators by helping our Pittsburgh campus be a welcoming pollinator environment.
Pursuit of designation is led by the Pollinator Habitat Advisory Committee.
