Bee Campus USA

The University of Pittsburgh first became a Bee Campus USA in 2020 — an honor we renew annually.

Pitt is proud to be one of over 175 Bee Campus USA affiliates in the U.S., with 2020, 2021, and 2022 designations.

The Bee Campus USA designation provides a framework for university and college campus communities to work together to conserve native pollinators by increasing the abundance of native plants, providing nest sites, and reducing the use of pesticides.  As a Bee Campus, Pitt is committed to helping conserve native pollinators by helping our Pittsburgh campus be a welcoming pollinator environment.

Pursuit of this designation is led by the Pollinator Habitat Advisory Committee.
