Ellie Cadden is the Sustainability Engagement Assistant for the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation (MCSI). In addition to oversight of the MCSI office and general support to the MCSI leadership team, Ellie assists with a variety of the Center’s education and outreach programs. Ellie also leads the content management of the MCSI website, alumni e-newsletter and social media communications.
Ellie holds a BA in Environmental Studies, minors in legal studies and Spanish, and a GIS certificate from the University of Pittsburgh. As an undergraduate, Ellie served as a Sustainability Program Associate for the Office of PittServes and co-directed the Student Office of Sustainability. Ellie has been involved in sustainability at the University of Pittsburgh campus since joining the Pitt Green Team her freshman year. Through that experience, she was introduced to PittServes and was introduced to the importance of equity and justice in sustainability. Through her roles as a student, Ellie had coordinated zero waste events, compost drop-off stations, events such as Clutter for a Cause and RecycleMania, and worked with the 27 student organizations affiliated with SOOS. She is from Erie, Pennsylvania and loves to kayak and bike around the lake!
