Lisia De Lima Spellman

Lisia de Lima Spellman is the Sustainability Manager at Pitt Eats by Compass, where she focuses on integrating sustainability into food systems at the University of Pittsburgh. Lisia is from Brazil, where she received her B.S. in Animal Science from the Federal University of Technology – Paraná, where she worked as a research assistant at the Biological Control Laboratory working with organic soy.  Lisia also holds a M.S. in Sustainable Management from DePaul University, where she was a Graduate Research Assistant and worked with the Good Food Purchasing Policy Council.  Prior to moving to Pittsburgh, Lisia worked at a fair trade clothing company in Chicago, where she created a program to transition all conventional shipping packaging to sustainable packaging. She also worked for a pharmaceutical company for whom she developed 2025 sustainability goals. Lisia focuses on creating sustainable strategies to develop a sustainable food system, as well as designing sustainable strategies for businesses.
