Confident City Cycling Bicycle Class
The University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University will co-host a Confident City Cycling Bicycle Class on Friday, July 22nd at 4:00 p.m. The class will be taught by certified instructors and is open to all university students, faculty, and staff at both Pitt and CMU. Registration is required and all participants must wear a helmet and know how to ride a bicycle.
Overview:
- The ABC Quick Check – make sure you bicycle is always ready before each ride
- Helmet Fitting – learn how a helmet that fits properly looks and feels
- Practice Drills – balancing, braking & stopping, cornering, looking back, and shifting
- On-Road Skills – instructors will lead group rides to demonstrate proper skills for riding a bicycle on the road and help participants build confidence in their on-road skills
Want to participate but don’t own a bicycle? No problem! Rent a bicycle from POGOH bike share. Remember, all University of Pittsburgh students, faculty, and staff get their first 30-minutes free with POGOH.*
