Water Discussion Series

  • When: Oct 12, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
  • Registration link: Click here
  • Campus: Off Campus
  • Event Type: Public

Date: Monday October 12th

Time: 12:00-1:00

What: The WATER Discussion Series is designed to create opportunities for data discussion and idea sharing among graduate students and other researchers working on research related to “water”.

Presenter: Bonnie McGill, Science Communication Fellow postdoc at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History

Title: Climate change impacts on a nitrate-contaminated aquifer in Botswana

Description: Complex socio-ecological issues demand transdisciplinary and community-engaged solution development. In this talk, Bonnie will tell the story of working in Botswana on a nitrate-contaminated aquifer a community relies on for drinking water and how learning from community members changed the course of the research.

We will have a brief period after Bonnie’s presentation to share recent data and discuss among peers. Please let me know if you’re interested in this so we can allot for enough time.
