Livingston Alexander House, Pitt Bradford (LEED Silver, 2020)
Introduction
The Livingston Alexander House is the newest residence hall on Pitt’s Bradford campus, housing 170 first year students. Residents live in 2-person bedrooms within a section of 24 to 36 students. The residence hall includes its own study lounge and fitness areas.
The 46,133 square foot building achieved LEED Silver in 2020.
Green Building Highlights
- Thermal glass and insulation that helps reduce building-wide energy consumption by 30%.
- High efficiency heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.
- 100% renewable electricity was purchased for the first two years of building operation, reducing the building’s carbon footprint.

- Construction materials included recycled and recyclable content.
