MCSI 2019-20 Leonard Peters Faculty Fellows in Sustainability

MCSI welcomes the first two Leonard Peters Faculty Fellows in Sustainability. These new Fellowships provide opportunities for two Pitt faculty members to focus on strategic MCSI goals over the 2019-20 academic year, helping positively impact Pitt’s research, education, and outreach efforts showcased in the Pitt Sustainability Plan.

The Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation welcomes the first two Leonard Peters Faculty Fellows in Sustainability.   These new Fellowships provide opportunities for two Pitt faculty members to focus on strategic MCSI goals over the 2019-20 academic year, helping positively impact Pitt’s research, education and outreach efforts showcased in the Pitt Sustainability Plan .

MCSI Fellowships are designed to engage outstanding faculty throughout the university who have a deep commitment to advancing sustainability research and education at Pitt.  Dr. Danielle Andrews-Brown (Environmental Studies) and Dr. Mike Blackhurst (UCSUR) will focus on faculty sustainability communications training, community engagement, and education opportunities with the MCSI leadership team.

Leonard Peters (BSChE ’62, MSChE ’69, PhD ’71) was a distinguished alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh.  He was a founding and long-time member of the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation’s external advisory board.
