Solar Picnic Tables
In November 2022, the University of Pittsburgh installed 2 solar picnic tables on Posvar Hall’s Patio.
The tables use solar energy to power ports where students can charge their laptops, phones and other electronic devices.
Pitt Green Fund and the Office of Sustainability funded the project, which was spearheaded by four students enrolled in the Spring 2022 Geology 1333: Sustainability course (taught by Ward Allebach).

The stations are available for use and sit adjacent to two of Pitt’s pollinator gardens.
