Emmy Ray

 

Emmy Ray is the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Sustainable Business Center Manager.  She is excited to help businesses become more sustainable.

Before deciding to devote her career to sustainable business, Emmy worked as a Starbucks supervisor for 6 years. During her Starbucks tenure, Emmy led efforts to reduce the resource use and waste at her store.

Emmy’s passion for sustainability began with her Colorado upbringing, where began to see the effects of climate change on the serene forests and rivers she grew up exploring. Social sustainability is most important to Emmy, as she believes the way to sustainable business is expanding opportunity for people to come together and build relationships.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Emmy helps collect and donate essential goods to nonprofit organizations, including Mon Valley Paws and her local veteran’s network.  She enjoys serving her local community, baking, listening to podcasts, traveling, making pottery, and board games with friends.

She holds an bachelor’s in Organization Leadership from from Arizona State University .
