Adapting to Climate Change: Lessons Learned

According to a University of Alaska study, hundreds of Alaskan communities face a high risk of displacement from erosion, melting permafrost, and flooding. Next up in the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation‘s 2020 Green Speakeasy series, Donald Antrobus and Joel Neimeyer (members of the team tasked with relocating the first U.S. climate change refugees) will discuss the challenges of moving an entire Yup’ik village. Hear how collaboration successfully got the village to safety, the lessons learned for other communities and agencies, and pose your own questions to these professional pioneers.

To learn more about climate displacement and the efforts being made to preserve communities at risk, RSVP for this virtual event on October 15 from 4  to 5:30 pm!
