Are you a Pitt student living in in a residence hall and looking to decrease your environmental footprint? Want to compete against your floor mates and other floors for bragging rights and prizes?  Help advance the University of Pittsburgh’s culture of sustainability by becoming a Pitt Green Resident & a Pitt Green Floor!

How do I become a Pitt Green Resident?

Fill out this Pitt Green Resident Self-Assessment to get started —  and explore the Pitt Sustainability website and Student Affairs for tips and tricks to boost your score!

Each activity is worth 1 to 3 points. If you score at least 70% of the possible points, you’ll become a Green Certified Resident and receive an e-certificate!

This is an opportunity for any student and floor in Pitt-provided housing to achieve a Green certification. Do you aim to be a sustainable resident through your daily routines? Complete the Green Resident Certification survey to find out how your green practices stack up! If you score 50% of the points possible you’ll earn your Green Resident Certification. If half of your floor’s residents achieve this,then your floor will be designated a Green-Certified Floor and earn a floor-wide certificate. The highest scoring floor’s residents will receive Millie’s gift cards!

How can my residence hall floor become a Pitt Green Floor?

If 50% of your floor achieves Green Resident Status, together you’ll be a Green Floor! Not only do all Green Floors get a sweet certificate to display, but the highest scoring floor also wins a zero waste finals party catered by a Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant!
