The University of Pittsburgh’s BioForge building has earned LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, the highest rank awarded by the global rating system. The 185,000-square-foot facility, certified for its core and shell, houses anchor tenant ElevateBio and BioForge, a biomanufacturing innovation facility that supports breakthroughs in the manufacturing of precision medicines.
“BioForge coming online as a LEED Platinum building represents what’s possible when we build our vision for the future with sustainability at its core,” said Chancellor Joan Gabel. “I'm grateful to everyone whose hard work elevated a bold idea into achievement.”
