The Sustainable Economic Growth Coalition will host a tabling event on the WPU Lawn to connect students with on- and off-campus resources available to them. Stop by to learn more about what the University offers.

Join the Student Office of Sustainability for the April First Thursday. Here, you can hear from our fantastic Affiliate Organizations, get involved in campus sustainability, and enjoy the community of fellow environmental stewards! Pizza, snacks, and OCC will be provided!

The Office of Sustainability in the Health Sciences is excited to host the first Health Sciences Sustainability Film Festival on April 3, 2026! This event is open to anyone in the Pitt community interested in sustainability in the health sciences.

The Mascaro Center Environmental Discourse Research Cluster focuses on the creative, critical, curatorial, communicative, and civic dimensions of sustainability research and challenges. This is the penultimate event in the series and will focus on Persuasion.

Join the Student Office of Sustainability for its third annual Eco Artisans Exhibit to promote environmental awareness through art. Featuring audio art, visual art, video art, and more, the pieces will focus on sustainability and environmental justice and use sustainably sourced or reused materials. Plus, see the work completed by Pitt’s Quilting for a Cause chapter.

The 2026 Environmental Summit moves beyond documenting environmental harm toward implementation, bridging science and on-the-ground reality so that justice and healing become lived experiences across our region. Convening in the Hill District, Hazelwood, and Homewood, the summit is rooted in communities where implementation matters most, centering our three pillars: Science, Justice, and Healing.

Do you want to learn how to ride a bike? Join League Certified Instructors in learning how to balance, pedal, start, stop, and steer a bike while properly fitting a helmet. Most people learn to ride in one session, but there is a four week program to help you develop all the skills to ride confidently around the city! Each week will build upon progress made in earlier sessions.

Learn how to make your own wallet, keychain, or tote bag out of repurposed vinyl banners! Vinyl is a sturdy material, and Pitt has lots of it due to the banners displayed on campus for events. Join the Center for Creativity to rework old vinyl banners into a sturdy wallet, keychain, or tote bag!

Inspired after your Tree Trek? Bring a leaf from your trek to the Text & conText lab for leaf monoprinting anytime from 1 – 6 pm! Using just ink and a Gelli plate, learn to create vibrant, unique art that highlights the textures and organic shapes of leaves and other natural elements.

Join us for a talk about the key role trees play in social determinants of health. Did you know that people who live in neighborhoods with more trees report significantly fewer health conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, and stroke, and have higher perceived health? Enjoy an hour with Dr. Isabela Angelelli as she discusses the importance of trees to our health.

Plant2Plate, Food Recovery Heroes, and Student Office of Sustainability invite you to join us in the Oakland Avenue Plant2Plant garden for our Second Annual Seed2Supper and Back Again event. We will be exploring the role and process of food, from seed to supper, and back to the soil. Join us for delicious food, sowing seeds, garden art, composting, and more. See you in the garden!

Each spring, the University of Pittsburgh brings together the campus community for a celebration of sustainability: the Pitt Sustainability Awards and Spring Student Sustainability Symposium. The combined event recognizes faculty, staff, students, and groups for outstanding contributions to campus sustainability while showcasing student research and projects, presentations, and tabling from campus and community organizations.

Move Out Clean Out (formerly “Clutter for a Cause”) will occur during finals week and move-out from April 29 through May 2, 2026. Donate your unwanted but still useful dorm essentials during move-out and keep valuable materials out of landfills and in use. New this year – interested shoppers can purchase donated items on-the-spot at affordable prices during open hours at the Schenley Quad Tent.
