At Pitt, we’re keeping more materials out of landfills. In fiscal year 2024, we diverted 49% of materials to recycling or reuse. While the University doesn’t have a formal zero waste goal, more of our campus community is adopting a zero waste mindset.

Pitt Has Been Named a Gold Bicycle Friendly University
The University of Pittsburgh achieved Gold Bicycle Friendly University status from the League of American Bicyclists, upgrading from a Silver designation earned in 2022.
