Ride the Electric Cargo Bike

Pitt employees can become trained to ride Pitt’s first electric-assist cargo bike fleet vehicle as part of their work in Oakland or within biking distance of campus.

Use the electric cargo bike in place of a gas-powered vehicle to reduce your transportation emissions and help the University achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2037.

The commercial grade, heavy-duty, utility-style electric trike can hold up to 500 pounds in it’s lockable cargo box. Electric pedal-assist provides additional power to riders with a range of 40 to 80 miles on a single charge. Interested employees should email sustainability@pitt.edu to become an electric cargo bike rider.
