MCSI Research Seed Grants in Sustainability
MCSI is requesting grant proposals for faculty to participate in high-quality research endeavors in sustainability. The goals of the grants are: (1) catalyze the formation of interdisciplinary synergistic research teams focused on sustainability (2) fund projects capable of obtaining external funding upon completion; and (3) enhance Pitt’s national recognition in sustainability and the visibility of interdisciplinary sustainability research and education on campus. Open to ALL faculty.

MCSI is pleased to announce the continued support of Faculty Fellowships in Sustainability. The John C. Mascaro Faculty Fellowships are designed to enhance the university’s mission of interdisciplinary excellence in sustainability research and education. Open to ALL faculty.

Undergraduate Summer Research in Sustainability
MCSI’s undergraduate research program program provides students with unique opportunities to go beyond the classroom curriculum and develop their own ideas on hands-on research while working under the guidance and mentorship of Pitt faculty. Faculty and staff across the university interested in serving as an advisor to a summer research student should submit an application. All Pitt undergraduate students may apply once student applications are open in 2024. Open to ALL faculty & undergraduate students.

MCSI Support for AASHE Workshop Attendance: Building a Curriculum Development Program for Your Institution
MCSI will support up to 5 Pitt faculty or staff interested in participating in the 2-day virtual January 2024 AASEH workshop focused on sustainability in the curriculum. Participating faculty will be equipped with the knowledge, materials and strategies to adapt this “Sustainability Across the Curriculum” model at Pitt. Student Group Grants
Led by the Pitt Green Fund, student applications will be reviewed collaboratively between the Green Fund, the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation, and the Pitt Office of Sustainability. Applicants may be eligible for sole or collaborative funding from these sources based on project type and details. The Green Fund reviews project applications every Sunday night until the end of the Spring Semester. Eligible applications will be reviewed by the Mascaro Center and Office of Sustainability on a rolling basis following the applicants meeting with the Green Fund.
