Pitt Acknowledged in 2024 Sustainable Campus Index

The University of Pittsburgh is acknowledged and highlighted in the 2024 Sustainable Campus Index! A publication of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), the annual Sustainable Campus Index highlights innovative and high-impact initiatives from colleges and universities that submitted a Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) report in the most recent calendar year.

Pitt is acknowledged as a top performer in the 2024 Sustainable Campus Index for water conservation and reuse, as well as effective rainwater management practices! Explore how Pitt is striving toward a water neutral campus.

The University is also highlighted for our convenient food lockers aimed to minimize food waste and address food insecurity in the Pitt community. Launched in fall 2023, with the support of the Pennsylvania Hunger Free Campus grant, the climate-controlled food lockers are accessible at all times to get meals delivered from Pitt’s dining establishments. Doubling as a place for Pitt community members in need to access free meals daily.
