Emmy serves as the Sustainability Director for Pitt Eats, bringing a strong passion for leadership, sustainability, and community impact.
Before joining Pitt Eats, Emmy worked as the Marketing and Sustainability Manager for the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Sustainable Business (CSB). In this role, she organized sustainability events, managed stakeholder engagement, and developed tools to help businesses integrate sustainability into their operations. Her time at CSB solidified her passion for sustainability and gave her experience in demonstrating how sustainable practices can drive economic value.
With a six-year career at Starbucks, Emmy also led waste reduction initiatives and developed a commitment to making businesses more environmentally responsible. Additionally, she has supported non-profits like Mon Valley Paws and her local veterans’ network by organizing essential goods collections within her community.
Emmy’s passion for sustainability stems from her Colorado upbringing, where she witnessed the effects of climate change on the forests and rivers she loved. She believes that fostering connections among people is key to creating sustainable and successful organizations. In her free time, Emmy enjoys community service, baking, traveling, making pottery, and playing board games with friends.
