Jonathan Burgess is the Director of the Pittsburgh Water Collaboratory at the University of Pittsburgh, a research center that has been recognized nationally for their engagement and community partnerships.
He has over a decade of experience and leadership in environmental science, policy analysis, program leadership, and administration. With a deep understanding of surface waters, urban and rural soils, and a passion for engaged research, his innovative programming was a previous recipient of the PEC Western Pennsylvania Environmental Award.
Prior to joining Pitt, Jonathan was most recently the Director of Programs and Policy at the Allegheny County Conservation District. He is an alumnus of Duquesne University and Sewanee: The University of the South. Additionally, he serves at Vice-Chair of the Ohio River Basin Alliance.
