Pitt’s Sustainability Living Learning Community (LLC) was launched in Fall 2022.
When live, the Sustainability LLC focuses on helping students explore and engage with sustainability across all disciplines through analysis and execution of the Pitt Sustainability Plan.
The Sustainability LLC is home to both upper-level and first-year students who learn the best practices for living sustainably and how to model these behaviors for their peers and the Pitt community.
Living with other like-minded students, you’ll participate in programs that explore sustainability topics by blending environmental, equitable, and economic perspectives through monthly discussions, guest speakers, and engagement with Pitt students and leaders.
Students can expect to meet friends and mentors through residence life programs, community service projects, and other unique opportunities including the Pitt Green Resident survey, and creating the foundation to pursue a Sustainability Distinction.
The Sustainability LLC will expand your Pitt journey and provide you with connections to the world of sustainability at Pitt.
The Sustainability LLC provides a unique experience for both first-year and upper-level students to live and learn together alongside other LLCs in Brackenridge Hall (including the Multicultural LLC). Upper-level students will have the opportunity to mentor a first-year student in the many Pitt Sustainability commitments.
Upper-Level Students
Upper-level students residing in the Sustainability LLC will have the unique experience of being able to mentor a first-year student in navigating the University and our many sustainability commitments, reports, and efforts.
Pitt’s culture of sustainability is continually growing — and one of the most important factors is keeping our campus sustainability experts connected via relationships and communication.
Through this experience, knowledge about and skills gained in sustainability through this experience and other co-curricular activities. Students are key contributors in actively enhancing and improving the culture of sustainability at Pitt and beyond.
