Climate Change: Is It a Public Health Crisis Yet?

Join Public Health for a webinar focuseed on developing a context for understanding the public health implications for climate change from a personal point of view. Because climate change and the environmental issues that arise from it are generally invisible, remote, and appear to lurk in our future, this webinar will ground the issue not as a crisis for another generation, but one that is already underway. Climate change already affects our lives in our grocery stores, the highways we drive on, the insurance costs we pay, the management of our health care, and the use of our tax dollars. The crisis is that we don’t see these affects.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • recognize the visible signs that climate change is already upon us;
  • identify seemingly unintuitive costs that we may personally incur in adjusting to the present rate of climate change; and
  • develop prescriptions for policy and a map for personal decision-making based upon climate change insights.
