Interdisciplinary Approaches to the Global Past: Bringing Together World History and Environmental Science

logo for Pitt world history center

For the past six years, the World History Center has held teaching workshops at the beginning of each semester to share insights about world history pedagogy.  The goal of this event is to encourage dialogue and conversation about the possibilities and challenges that historians and environmental scientists encounter when they incorporate one another’s insights and methodologies into teaching about the global past. This event features Ruth Mostern, Director of the World History Center, John Gardner, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology and Environmental Science, and David V.P. Sanchez, Assistant Professor in the Department Civil & Environmental Engineering and the Associate Director of the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation.

Please RSVP to whc@pitt.edu if you plan to attend.

Join us for a light lunch and back to school open house after the event in the World History Center, 3900 Posvar Hall.
