CommutePitt Wins $7,000 Grant From New American Road Trip

The New American Road Trip awarded CommutePitt with a $7,000 grant to expand EV charging stations on Pitt’s campus.

Kicking off at the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco last week, the New American Road Trip began a 10 day journey across the United States — in an electric car, with the goal of demonstrating American citizen’s commitment to fighting climate change.  The team has been stopping in multiple cities along the way to gather support, including Pittsburgh!

NART rolled into Pittsburgh earlier this evening, and was welcomed by Mayor Peduto, leadership from Duquesne Light, local innovators, and citizens.  While here, they announced CommutePitt as the winners of an Instagram photo contest!  The award for the contest is a $7,000 grant, which CommutePitt will use to expand electric vehicle charging stations on Pitt’s campus.
